About this prompt library

A free library of 1,384 ChatGPT prompts

This is an open, searchable collection of ChatGPT prompts, Claude prompts, and Gemini personas — the same dataset that powers awesome-chatgpt-prompts, the largest public prompt repository on GitHub. Every prompt is released under the CC0 public-domain licence, so you can copy, edit, and use them in any project — personal or commercial — without attribution.

Use the search bar and category tabs above to find a ready-made AI prompt for your task — whether you need a writing assistant, a coding mentor, a language tutor, or a role-playing character. Click any card, review the full prompt, and hit Copy to drop it straight into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama, Mistral, or any other large-language model.

Popular prompt categories

The 1,384 prompts are organised into the following categories so you can drill down quickly:

Using these prompts with Claude, Gemini, and Llama

Although many prompts were originally written for ChatGPT, they work well across all modern chat models. For Claude 4 you can wrap the persona in <role> tags to encourage stronger in-character responses. For Gemini 2.5 and Llama 4, paste the prompt as the first user message and it will be treated as the active persona for the rest of the conversation.

If you need to count tokens, measure cost or compress a long persona before pasting it into an API call, pair this tool with our Token Counter, Prompt Compressor, or Persona Generator to build a custom persona from scratch.

Frequently asked questions about AI prompts

What are ChatGPT prompts?

ChatGPT prompts are instructions you paste into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any large-language-model chatbot to shape how it responds. A well-crafted prompt defines the AI’s role, tone, knowledge level, output format, and constraints — turning a general assistant into a focused expert for a single task.

Where do these prompts come from?

Every prompt in this library is sourced from the awesome-chatgpt-prompts project on GitHub, the largest open-source collection of AI prompts. The data is released under CC0 1.0 (public domain) so you can use, copy and modify any prompt for free — including commercial projects.

Do these prompts work with Claude, Gemini, Llama and other LLMs?

Yes. While many prompts mention ChatGPT or GPT, they are written in plain English and work with Claude 4, Gemini 2.5, Llama 4, Mistral, DeepSeek and any modern chat model. You may need to tune the tone slightly — Claude responds better to XML-like tags, Gemini tends to be more verbose — but the core prompt structure transfers directly.

How do I use a prompt?

Click any persona card to open the full prompt, then hit Copy Prompt. Paste it as the first message in ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini (or into the system prompt field if your interface has one). The AI will take on the persona and stay in character until you tell it to stop.

Can I modify the prompts?

Absolutely — in fact you should. Replace placeholder values in curly braces, adjust the tone, add your own rules. The library gives you a proven starting point; your customisation turns it into something specific to your use case.

Is this the same as awesome-chatgpt-prompts?

The data is the same. We ship a searchable, categorised interface on top of the raw CSV — with one-click copy, category tabs, and server-side search — so you don’t have to scroll through a long GitHub README to find what you need.

Do I need to sign up or pay?

No. Toolpile is free to use without an account. There is no rate limit on copying prompts and nothing is stored about you or what you copy.

What categories of prompts are available?

All 1,384 prompts are organised into twelve categories — Development (468), Business (177), Writing (122), Productivity (64), Education (50), Creative (47), Entertainment (47), Languages (40), Lifestyle (24), Health (9), Science (9), and Other (327). Use the category tabs at the top of the tool to filter.
